HOOPS FOR TROOPS
This year, students at Key Center School will be participating in “Hoops for Troops” in recognition of Veterans Day. Last year the students voted to raise money for Paws and Stripes and we collected $650 for the cause. Paws and Stripes is an organization that provides service dogs for veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury. On November 2nd students will vote for this year’s cause to support and we will share the winning cause at our upcoming concert with the US Navy Band Country Current.
During P.E., students are learning about basketball and preparing for “Hoops for Troops”. To support our fundraiser, please consider sponsoring your child. Each student will be given the opportunity to shoot twenty baskets during their P.E. time on the week of 11/7-11/9. Accommodations will be provided for those students who require support. Each basket that is made will be recorded. Sponsors can opt to make a donation for each basket made or a flat donation. All checks can be made to Key Center PTA. Once students have the opportunity to participate in shooting their 20 baskets, sponsors will be made aware of the money earned. If a flat fee is being donated, money can be sent in at any time. Pledges (not money) for this event will be due by Friday, November 2nd.
