Staff Spotlight- Ashli Onunaku
This is Ashli's eighth year at Key Center School. She spent seven of those years working as a classroom teacher in our 17-22 program. This year, however, Ashli began working as our Vocational Coordinator. In this role, she coordinates both in-school and community work activities. She also supports transition activities by linking families to post-graduation community services and providers. In addition to her teaching career at Key Center, Ashli taught in a private day school for 3 years.
Ashli loves working with the amazing staff and students at Key Center. She enjoys collaborating with the staff and the positive work environment created at Key Center. This year she has taken on a new role which has allowed her to work closely with a larger group of staff and students.
Ashli and her husband, Onyie, are both teachers. They have two children- Elliana who is six and Ashton who is four. Ashli's interests include watching football, outdoor activities and spending time with her family. She enjoys being active and even played college softball as a student at George Mason University.
