Johanna has been working as a music therapist or music specialist in education since 2007. She began working for Fairfax County Public Schools, at Key Center, during the 2021-2022 school year. Johanna's favorite thing about Key Center is the students. Johanna says "Each student brings their own unique musicality and preference to the music group, which then adds to the magic of group musicking! It's like ingredients in an awesome cake and when put together- it's just perfect."

When not at work, Johanna loves spending time with her family, reading, and of course singing and playing guitar.  She and her husband have fraternal twin daughters that are nine years old and in fourth grade. They don't have any pets currently, but luckily my mother-in-law is a self-proclaimed 'cat lady' and she has enough cats that Johanna's family is able to get  plenty of snuggle time.
